Alex Montoya - Motivational Speaker, Author & Writing Coach #Colombia
In this episode of the Road to Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Alex Montoya. Alex is a TedX speaker who spreads a message about overcoming adversity; defeating obstacles; and embracing the American spirit.
He has written eight books – including a children’s book - and his company, A-Motivational Communications, creates inspiring in-person and virtual talks. In 2020 he also launched The Alex Montoya Podcast and The Alex Montoya Foundation to promote inclusion of disability and immigrant communities.
He has won a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the San Diego Hispanic Chamber; was given a Medal of Honor from the Colombian government; and carried the Olympic Torch in 1996. He has delivered his message for audiences including Google, NASA, Harvard, and the NFL’s Denver Broncos. Alex earned his Bachelor Degree at the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s from the University of San Francisco.
He has published eight books, including one for children, all available on Amazon:
- Swinging for the Fences (2008)
- The Finish Line (2012) - See the Good (2016)
- Wolfpack (2017)
- Living Inspired (2018)
- Here Comes Cannonball: Reflections on 40 Years at Anderson Plumbing, Heating, and Air (2018, co-written with Mary Jean Anderson)
- Alex Masters the Monkey Bars (children’s book) (2020)
- You Got This: A Sacred Journey to Wellness (2020)
He is also currently ghostwriting (co-writing) multiple books with other authors for release in 2021.
