In this week’s episode, Bob interviews Amanda Doyle, the host of the new “Reward Offered” podcast, all the way from Australia. Amanda’s aim is to highlight cases that have a financial reward available, in order to bring attention to cases and help motivate individuals to come forward with information. Bob and Amanda discuss their favorite ways to drink bourbon, the pandemic situation in Australia, and differences in criminal investigations across the pond. They also discuss the Murphys Creek Murders, the subject of the first four episodes of Reward Offered. In 1974, two Australian nursing students were traveling together, when they suddenly went missing. Shortly after their disappearance, their bodies were found near Murphys Creek. Witnesses reported hearing screaming in the area on the night of their disappearance, and others have come forward in the years following, leading investigators to conclude that the two women had been brutally raped and murdered by a group of local men, though no charges have been brought in the case. Amanda’s investigation into the murders, however, has uncovered some inconsistencies indicating things may not be quite as they seem…
