Appeal to Fiction - FT#86

In the eighty-sixth episode we explore the Appeal to Fiction Fallacy, starting with Trump confusing a movie with real life around the southern border, and comparing himself to a notorious movie villain, before Don Jr misunderstands Orwell. In Mark's British Politics Corner we look at Boris Johnson attempting to pepper his speech on how great we all are with allusions to Greek mythology and muppets. In the Fallacy in the Wild section, we check out examples from Clerks (The Animated Series), Be Reasonable, and I Am Legend. Jim and Mark go head to head in Fake News, the game in which Mark has to guess which of three Trump quotes Jim made up. Then we talk about the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident that cost the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, which right wingers have used to attack Alec Baldwin.
