Are attacks on Muslims and Islam Justified?

Why are Muslims and their faith viewed as a threat or an enemy in some parts of the world, especially the West? Prior to 9/11, there was virtually nothing published that related to Muslims or Islam in the United States, but the attack saw a certain notion of demonizing Islam. Many of you will recall how a gunman walked into the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand and opened fire. During the course of his killing spree there, and at the Linwood Islamic Centre, 51 people were killed in their place of worship for no other reason. The killer had decided that their faith meant that they deserved to die. This morning on the Talking Point we look at why Muslims and their faith are being demonized in some parts of the world and try to understand why voices across Western and European societies have considered Islamophobia to be fair and justified…
