The number of young South Africans under the age of 20, who have registered to participate in Wednesday's general election has declined to the lowest level since at least 1999, this according to data from the Independent Electoral Commission, IEC. Are South Africans just not interested in voting? Many have said that they just don't see any point in voting and that they also don't see a vote as a powerful instrument of democracy.
