Our top story is: Gas prices are down in Austin and nationwide, but will likely rise before holiday road trips begin. In the past week, the average price of a gallon of regular gas fell 8 cents in Austin to $2.16 a gallon, according to gas price tracker GasBuddy, which conducts a daily survey of 830 area stations.
