Bi’laynie Daucima, the smallest baby ever born at Memorial Healthcare System, is finally going home after months in the hospital. Born at just twenty-three weeks, she weighed less than a pound and defied slim odds to survive. Her mother, Jeamyna Jean Charles, expressed joy and disbelief at this moment. Jeamynas pregnancy was complicated by severe preeclampsia, leading to an emergency delivery. Bi’laynie was immediately placed on high-frequency ventilation and received round-the-clock care from the NICU staff. After a long journey, she is now strong enough to leave the hospital and join her proud parents and two older brothers. Her story is a testament to the incredible advancements in medical care and the resilience of the human spirit.
