Babysitter Laughs After Killing Baby & Taking Lifeless Body to McDonald's

In October 2018, 31-year-old babysitter Marissa Tietsort was caring for a 2‑month‑old infant in Wausau, Wisconsin, when tragedy struck. The baby later died from blunt-force trauma to the head. Remarkably, Marissa dressed the infant in a snowsuit, placed him in a car seat, and returned him to his mother—without mentioning that he had already passed away 

Investigators uncovered a troubling history: four of her own children had previously been removed from her care, court-ordered child abuse reports included skull fractures in another infant, and a restraining order had been filed in 2010 after she allegedly left a child in a hot car 

During legal proceedings, she briefly pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect before withdrawing that plea 

Marissa was sentenced to 40 years in prison—37 for reckless homicide and 3 for child abuse—followed by 20 years of extended supervision and lifelong restrictions regarding childcare
