but the King could not bring himself to believe her words.

그가 말하길, 그녀는 너무 신실하고 좋은 사람이라 그런것을 절대 할 수가 없어요.

He said, “She is too pious and good to do anything of that kind.

만약 그녀가 바보가 아니라면

If she were not dumb,

자신을 변호할 수 있겠죠.

and could defend herself,

그녀의 결백함은 곧 밝혀질 겁니다.

her innocence would come to light.”
