In the wilds of far northern Ontario, there are places where a person could walk for many days without finding civilization. In some areas you could be attacked by wolves before you ever made it out. Leaving a boy in these wild places will certainly bring him closer to manhood in a hurry! Around the world there are many different thoughts on when a boy becomes a man or a girl becomes a woman. In Jewish tradition, this happens at 12 or 13 years of age… But does a ceremony and a party make a child an adult?
