Greta Schiller discusses her newly restored 1984 film, "Before Stonewall: The Making of the Gay and Lesbian Community." A First Run Features re-release, the film looks at the making of gay and lesbian communities in the US from the turn of the 20th century to the summer of 1969 and includes interviews with seminal figures, such as Audre Lorde and Allen Ginsberg.
The film opens June 21 in New York at Quad Cinema, June 28 in LA, and will then expand nationwide.
