While Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are continuing their battle for the Democratic presidential nomination for at least another week, Democrats in Montana got some good news. Their popular governor, Steve Bullock, announced he will take on GOP Sen. Steve Daines in November.  Mike Dennison of the Montana Television Network says that at the minimum, Bullock’s move makes a safe Republican seat into one that will be very competitive.

Not long ago, Elizabeth Warren was considered a frontrunner for the Democratic nomination. Last week, she was a casualty of the race, dropping out after dismal performances in the early primaries, including her home state of Massachusetts. Debbie Walsh of the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University says that sexism — and the widespread belief that a woman couldn’t defeat President Trump — contributed to the Warren campaign’s demise.

And we reach out to our old friend Neal Conan, the former host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation, who reflects on politics and the changes in his life.
