Danielle, one of the founding members of MamasteFit gym and doula client, shares her two birth stories that have inspired her to enter birth work after retiring from the US Air Force. Danielle shares how she advocated for her care and birth during her first pregnancy when she was considered a "geriatric pregnancy" and had an unmedicated hospital birth after being pressured to schedule a c-section due to her age. Danielle then shares how she had to navigate a placenta previa diagnosis after planning a home birth, and how she still had a positive experience with a scheduled c-section for her second birth.
