Black Mirror Book Club Episode 1: The Influencing Machine and Frost/Nixon
03.20.2017 - By Black Mirror Library
“It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Black Mirror Library.”
Welcome back to our library listeners! This is our third episode and our first one where we meet in our library for our "book club." At this book club we discuss Brooke Gladstone's incredible media manifesto in graphic novel format "The Influencing Machine" and Ron Howard's "Frost/Nixon." In this episode we discuss if Nixon is actually Trump? Is this history or is this life right now? How much should you really rely on movies for your history knowledge? (If you're me, way too much.) Then we discuss the MEDIA and the conspiracy of the media. Is the media a machine or a mirror? Do we actually get the media we deserve? Even if you haven't read "Frost/Nixon" or read "The Influencing Machine" I think you can still engage thoughtfully with our extensive conversation chock full of tangents! So we hope you enjoy another visit in our library! We hope you never leave...
