Music has always been a passion of mine. For a long time I played the guitar and listened to as much music I could to sharpen my chops. At a young age, my step-father Stephen would play The Beatles in the car when we would go visit my cousins in NY or when he took me to one of my tutoring sessions to learn how to read better. Stephen introduced me to Billy Joel and he also introduced me to The Beatles and at a young age, I fell in love with this song, Within You Without You and I can't tell you why. But recently it jumped out at me while I was trolling through YouTube and I was hooked again and then I heard Jimmy Herring's version and I just fell in love with the song and started listening to it every morning before I started my day. It was refreshing, calming and inspiring all wrapped up in one.
In this Bonus Feature, I don't go into a lot of detail why I love this song because I think it speaks for itself. If you can listen to the words and identify with them like I did, then I think the song says it all. I love both versions, but have been drawn to Jimmy's because I'm able to watch him play it and I love great guitarist and I think Jimmy is one if the greatest.. I've included the link below.
https://youtu.be/sWoMj0e5xLk
and I've also included The Beatles version also,
https://youtu.be/bc9kzMKA5QE
I wanted to share this level of insight because there is meaning behind this song and there is meaning behind what I'm trying to accomplish with The Invisible Thread. Hopefully in future episodes you can reflect on how these songs have impacted you and be inspired to smash the day in half!
