Okay. So I have to ask you about the title of your new book. Your new book is Quick. I Need To Be A Leader In 30 Days.  What, led up to you writing that book?  Scott Blanchard, the son of Ken Blanchard, who is a noted author on leadership, he was kind enough to write the forward to my book and his research revealed that over 50 million millennials are in the workplace today throughout North America, ten million in management with about two million adding to the management stream every year. But unfortunately he also found that about 60% of them fail during their first year on the job and that's [00:02:00] failing in terms by their own measures, by the expectations of themselves or their organizations. So I felt there was a need to address that failure and my work through the years with a variety of clients, especially new managers . I thought it's a great place to start. And so I, began to think about why is it that there's that failure? I've been in the training business for many years. And what does Scott reveal? That most of these managers don't even get training until they're on the job about seven to nine years.  The habits that you try to develop your very first year, they kind of stick with you throughout your career, often. And if you're not doing the right things to begin with that's not going to be very helpful to you. So I thought what's needed is a practical, handy-dandy kind of course, because I felt that somebody could really get running with management and leadership in a good month if they really focus. And that got me thinking about what needs to go into a course like that, [00:03:00] which I developed into that book.  Okay. That's very good. And it's interesting because a lot of the things you say are things that I've seen in my background in the copier business where I dealt with copier dealers and I saw them so often walk up to their best technician, they would say, "Congratulations!"You've been doing a good job. And by the way, you're the service manager." They would turn around and walk away. And that was the end of his training.  And I saw a manager struggle and fail because they didn't get the help. And you and I have taken a similar path because I started teaching service management because I saw there wasn't anybody that taught a complete course. It is interesting also that Ken Blanchard's book, The One Minute Manager, is required reading in my introduction course.  Yeah Ken's great. Ken and Scott wrote the forward to my first book. What Makes You Tick and What Ticks You Off? , all about temperament and how it influences leadership. The Blanchard folks have been a real supporter of my work in writing about [00:04:00] leadership, through the years.  That's very nice. Okay. So would you do me a favor and describe the four step process that you believe is important for new leaders to have in their toolbox?  Yeah. And I, do use that metaphor of the toolbox that there's not one correct way to be a leader. My experience has been that there are a lot of tools and concepts out there, and I think that's the first step in terms of my approach to this course  that I've written up, was to learn some of the leadership concepts and basic tools that anybody would need to hit the ground running.
