On today's 'BradCast':  Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) has "temporarily" stepped down as head of the bipartisan Intelligence Committee after the FBI seized his cell phone, as part of an investigation into Burr's unusual stock trades after he received a private Senate briefing previewing the coming economic shock of the coronavirus – and there appears to be more the story. The federal judge overseeing the case against Donald Trump's first National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, has appointed a former judge to argue against the Trump Justice Department's unprecedented motion to dismiss the case despite Flynn's multiple guilty pleas. The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed a ruling dismissing an Emoluments Clause lawsuit filed against Trump over his ongoing ownership of a hotel in the nation's capital that is frequented by world diplomats and others seeking favor from the Administration. DAVID DAYEN of The American Prospect delves into new unemployment numbers released on Thursday that highlight the crushing toll that the COVID-19 crisis is taking on the nation's economy. A new report estimates that 27 million Americans have lost their employer-based health insurance due to the crisis. Fed Chair Jerome Powell is calling for Congress to appropriate much more money to "avoid long-term economic damage."  Dayen explains how the massive unemployment numbers are largely by Congressional design, and details the negotiations over the next Congressional relief package, including a mini uprising from progressives on Nancy Pelosi's side in the House, and complete inaction on the Republican side from Mitch McConnell in the Senate and Trump in the White House...
