It was never rainbows and unicorns for the 2022 Arizona State Sun Devils football program, but the season has finally come to a close in the most fitting way possible. The Sun Devils dropped the Territorial Cup to the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson 38-35 thanks to five turnovers and a lack of defense. But to only lose by three points in a five-turnover game seems crazy to believe. Nonetheless, it was reality as the Sun Devils figuratively and literally fought to the whistle for this game and never gave up hope for a comeback. There were a lot of negatives in this game, but there were several positives as well. Most importantly, it gave birth to the next era of Arizona State Sun Devils football.
