Salman Promon is a science and technology enthusiast, looking for acquiring the expertise required to solve real-life problems by working and collaborating with various local and global initiatives. He is currently working as a lecturer at the Department of Life Sciences, Independent University, Bangladesh. He completed his BS and MS in Biotechnology from BRAC University, Bangladesh. He is involved in teaching, student activities, research, technology & innovation and social development initiatives. Currently, his research line is focused on regenerative medicine, industrial biotechnology, biomedical engineering, cancer research, cell & molecular biology.
He is passionate to set examples in the community by involving potential candidates in the applied science and STEAM projects by MECHAMIND and many of his other initiatives. As a founding member of Dhaka Fab Lab society and Cancer Care & Research Trust, Bangladesh (CCRTB) he is working on contributing more to society. Salman was also a lecturer of the Biotechnology program at BRAC University, Dhaka, and co-founder of STAR Labs BD- the first community bio lab in Bangladesh. He has been working to establish a Citizen Science Network as a base of an open science society in Bangladesh
