Hugh explains that the Senate GOP is close to blowing the 2024 election by proposing a “supplemental” funding deal for Israel (good), Ukraine (good) and “immigration law reform without a Wall” (awful.) The alleged Senate package is policy and political suicide coined by Senate staffers who never have to win elections. The Wall is 80% issue. If Democratic negotiators won’t agree to authorize it and appropriate the funds for its construction this year, walk away and run the election on that issue.
