For four decades, photographer Xi Zhinong has used his camera to protect life. From being the first to film the endangered Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys to documenting herders protecting snow leopards and recording the call of the rare green peafowl in the Honghe River Valley, he has traced China's journey in promoting biodiversity. "The ultimate means of conservation is to build protected areas and national parks in people's hearts," he said talking about his work in helping to establish 1.1 million square kilometers of national parks.
