There was more drama than a TV soap in the cycling. We saw crashes, cheating allegations, snap retirements, records shattered, a 13-year reign toppled.

A first round clash between Britain and Denmark – ended with a bizarre crash between Frederik Madsen and Charlie Tanfield. 

The crash came shortly before Denmark was accused of cheating.

And all of this happened in just one day - just a few days before we saw another bizarre crash of Australian rider Alex Porter - when his handles just snapped off.

There’s now an investigation into how it happened.
