The Chippewa Youth Hockey Arena holds the distinction as the only entirely volunteer run hockey facility in the entire Midwest.  Not a single dime of public monies goes to the operation of the facility, as it was built and has been sustained over the decades solely on the support of the community.  Longtime Chippewa Youth Hockey Association board member Steve Gibbs shares insight into this arena that was literally built on the shoulders of passionate volunteers.
