Some of the worse advice grad students have been given is: "choose a topic they are passionate about and study it."  Now, we know if you're in the medical field and maybe you're practicing law, this may be an exception. However, today's episode is extremely important. If you're getting ready to enroll in a program, or maybe you're already in a program, but you haven't chosen your research topic yet, you don't want to miss today's episode. I will share three reasons you do not want to choose a topic you love and why this is a mistake.  Instead, I want you to choose a topic you like, not love, for your research and dissertation topic.
