Christ the King - Ed Newman - 21Nov21

Listen Later

It's our Feast Day, the feast of Christ the King. But what does that mean? Ed looks into the origins of the day and how it was started by the Pope in 1925 as an emphasis on Christ after the mass annihilation of WW1.

Ed then looks at

  • As he was - feeding those who followed him
  • As he is today - Christ the King is no longer with us as he was with his disciples. We reach out to the weary and serve in his name.
  • As he will be forever - We are waiting for him to return, it sustains us and gives us something to look forward to ahead.

As we celebrate the feast we will remember him as he was, embrace as he is and look with hope to the glory in the future.
