Because of the psychological effects of Terri's horrific past, raising her is not simple. Donna meets her emotional needs as a foster mother, which is a blessing for her on Afdah Movie. Thankfully, schmaltz, melodrama, and preachiness are avoided in the screenplay by co-writer Rebekah Weigel and writer/director Joshua Weigel. It has a lot to say about compassion, unconditional love, and the resiliency of the human spirit, yet it tackles these subjects fearlessly and without holding back, including some extremely painful sequences that avoid giving anything away. Every performance is excellent throughout. Dianna Babnicova, a rookie, provides a ground-breaking performance, and Nika King and Demetrius Grosse are both outstanding. Every one of them succeeds in finding the emotional truth of their parts and giving them a genuine feel.
