2,000 years ago the Master taught the importance of community.  He taught his apostles and disciples to share all things and to break bread together in order to foster the spirit of brother and sisterhood.  The churches in America and the Westernized world today have gotten far away from Jesus’ teachings about community and this has caused a breakdown of family and of people truly caring for one another.

In this episode, Gabriel of Urantia discusses the need for community living, as he wrote in his book, “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf” about how to create and maintain a community.  Gabriel talks about his childhood, growing up in a poor neighborhood in Pittsburgh.  They didn’t have much but everyone helped and took care of each other.  If someone lost their job, others would lend them money, make sure their kids had Christmas presents, invite them over to eat, etc.  This is what Jesus taught and is the foundation for the community of Divine Administration Gabriel of Urantia and Niánn Emerson Chase established in 1989 that continues to grow and thrive today.

From a teaching from The URANTIA Book, Paper 154, Section 6 - “Jesus’ Family Arrives”
