How do you approach race in your home? Is it uncomfortable for you to start or have a conversation on race with another race? If someone asked your child if mommy or daddy likes these people or those people, what would their response be? If you’re unsure, need guidance or just never thought about it, this episode is for you! On this episode we are joined with Roxi Victorian, a choreographer and dance scholar, who has orchestrated a creative dance performance to illustrate the journeys of brown and black moms as they experience racism, violence and discrimination. When you’re done with this episode we hope you feel more confident and take the challenge to discuss race in your home through the creative ways discussed so that it’s not awkward, cringy or divisive.
