This week we discuss what it means to be in contempt of court. Ann explains that there are two types of contempt of court, criminal and civil. Most cases fall under civil, and there are no set rules or guidelines. Different judges have different criteria for what's considered contemptuous in their courtrooms. Dan thinks that since contempt is at the judge's discretion, it is easy to abuse. We both share stories about almost being held in contempt by judges for very different reasons.
