Covid-19: Siouxsie Wiles on new cases in community

Another two people have tested positive for Covid-19 after leaving managed isolation at the Pullman Hotel, with preliminary genomic sequencing suggesting it is linked to another positive case in Northland from over the weekend.

All three people who have tested positive were in managed isolation at the Pullman Hotel on the same dates, but left on different days. 

Dr Ashley Bloomfield says the Auckland pair initially returned a weak positive result during routine re-testing. They were then tested again and produced a stronger positive result.
