Craziest Interrogation Of The Evil Mother

Listen Later

A detective sat across from a smiling woman who had just described her son's bruises as falling off a cushion. Then he read the pediatrician's report aloud. The mask dropped. The monster spat in his face. The interrogation was over.

In North London, Detective Jon Wedger confronted Tracey Connelly, the mother of 17-month-old Peter, a boy who would later be known as Baby P. Connelly had been called in for questioning on suspicion of torturing her son. Wedger had access to a file compiled by a pediatrician detailing dozens of injuries, including a fractured spine. He let Connelly spin her ridiculous excuses before systematically dismantling each one. When he told her the injuries were consistent with punches and kicks, Connelly stood up, screamed an obscenity, and spat directly in his face. Wedger looked at her and said: Now that is the monster your son sees. Connelly was released that night. Days later, Peter was dead. This interrogation is studied as the moment evil showed its true face[citation:2].
