A 22-year-old cold case has heated up thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.
“It looks like a promising tip,” said Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.
Cedar Creek Lake area resident Jennifer Winkler was reported missing in 1998. Sheriff’s investigators learned she was last seen leaving the Casino Tropical Nite Club in Gregg County with two hispanic men.
“The case kind of stalled right there,” said Hillhouse. “There has been much movement with it since then.”
Hillhouse said investigators have worked on the case through the years, following some leads, but nothing really panned out.
“This Crime Stoppers tip looks like it is really good information, so we’re very hopeful,” he said.
If you have any tips, call Henderson County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-545-TIPS or call the Sheriff’s Office at 903-675-5128.
