This weekend features by far the best and deepest schedule of IL Top 20 matchups yet this season, and D-Fly and Dixie are here to preview all the big games. To start, they recap a slim week of news and talk through their selections for IL’s Midseason All-America teams. Be sure to check out Matt Kinnear’s meaty midseason conference update.





There are a staggering eight (8) bona fide, certified, marquee matchups this weekend, so they get to the business quickly. Let’s get it!



This week’s interview features a wonderful conversation with North Carolina head coach Joe Breschi. As the Tar Heels prepare for a rematch with No. 6 Virginia, the guys discuss how the pandemic has affected life in Chapel Hill, the Heels’ incredible offensive firepower and how to keep the troops happy, recruiting during COVID, the emergence of Collin Krieg in goal, his high praise for his assistant coaches, Will Bowen and how at this point in the ACC season you have to prepare for one-goal games.

It's Rivalry Week, huge crowds are showing up and IL's Terry Foy and Nick Ossello are back to examine two huge games with contrasting identities.



First, to Syracuse, where Foy was in the building for the Orange's 18-17 win over Virginia in the latest entry for Game of the Year (a very crowded ballot). Then, to a Homewood Field that revised its attendance total to become the biggest crowd of the college lacrosse season so far, and where the Blue Jays completed a 7-5 win over their archenemy Terrapins to claim the Crab Trophy. Wrapping up the rivalry talk, they dive into Ohio State's frantic comeback that fell just short and set up a rematch vs., you guessed it — Michigan.



It wasn't all rivalry action, though, and they dive into Mike Gianforcaro's goalie goal, Loyola's win over Navy and what it sets up in the Patriot League, Jacksonville's big ASUN win over Air Force and Yale's win over UAlbany on Friday night that may or may not have laid out the blueprint for Merrimack to beat the Great Danes in Sunday's showcase game, which Ossello attended (after this podcast was recorded).

It’s Rivalry Week in the college lacrosse season as teams jockey for position in their respective conference tournaments. Expect big crowds, intense action and maximum effort. Are you ready?

4/19 D-Fly & Dixie Podcast with Johns Hopkins’ Garrett Degnon

IL's Terry Foy and Nick Ossello unpack a pair of incredible finishes — Siena's four-goal run in the last minute to beat Manhattan and Lafayette's buzzer-beater to top Boston U — plus Jordan Faison's caused turnover that led to the Notre Dame's eventual game-winning goal.



From there, they bring on former Brown star Larken Kemp to discuss the Bears' win over Princeton. Kemp shares his thoughts on what it must be like for Virginia coach Lars Tiffany to have their regular season losing streak to Duke extend to 19, and they wrap by talking about Army's win over Navy and Denver's big Big East win over Georgetown.

Caleb has returned from his bachelor party to reclaim his role as the co-host of IL’s DIII Podcast. The fellas have Wesleyan coach John Raba on the show to talk all things Wesleyan lacrosse. The three of them hit everything from fatherly life advice to what NOT to do when you are on your visit as a prospective Wesleyan student athlete. Among the many things that the trio dives in on, is what, if any, similarities exist between this 2024 team and the group that conquered DIII in 2018.
