D-Fly and Dixie are back with a fresh episode of the Inside Lacrosse weekend preview, and what a show it is today. It’s mid-April and conference races are heating up. This weekend features several matchups of Top 20 teams with conference and national implications. The CAA is no exception, and Drexel head coach Brian Voelker joins the guys to set up the weekend’s action.

First, they offer a recap and analysis of the Thursday night battle of top ACC teams – No. 4 Duke’s 13-12 thrilling overtime win against No. 3 Virginia. Dix comments that in crunch time Duke relied on its number one strength, team culture, to earn the victory.

In the News of the Week segment, they discuss a new team atop the IL Media Poll, the shutdown of Holy Cross’ program for the season, the postponement of No. 19 Albany at No. 20 Vermont and the news on recruiting from the NCAA.

Then they bring in long-time friend of the pod, Brian Voelker, who’s No. 13-ranked Dragons have won four straight games. Voelker discusses pandemic life and how it’s particularly affected Drexel, seniors Aidan Coll and Reid Bowering, his grandfather, why so many Hopkins alums become coaches, coaching against friends, the case for multi-bids for the CAA this season and road trips.
