We interview Debbie Spector Weisman. Debbie is an author and a veteran of the parenting wars. She’s a mom of 2 and a Grandma and has put her experiences to good use as a Dream Life Coach. She also came out with a new book called, “It Came out of My Vagina, Now What?  An Honest, Really Honest Guide to Conscious Parenting.”

Coming to you this time directly from Dreamland.

How Debbie became interested in becoming a Dream Life Coach

She saw the movie “What the Bleep do We Know.” Her husband and she were hired to do the post-production work on the film.  At the time, she had no idea there was a connection between the mind and the body, that we could control our thoughts and change our habits. She had been a committed fatalist. The movie turned her around and she began searching for what she could do to make her life better.

She got into making mind/spirit movies and along the way she met Kelly Sullivan Walden who is an author and Dream Life Expert who has been a dream life coach for over 20 years. She set up dream circles to discuss dreams and Debbie joined in. She began learning about her dreams and what was going on inside her brain. She took Kelly’s Dream Life Coaching Training and become a dream life coach. It created such a shift in her life that she knew she had to share it with others.

What is a dream life coach?

It involved interpreting dreams, working with people’s dreams, and working with people after they understand their dreams. She doesn’t tell people what their dreams mean. She asks questions and guides them to understand what the dream means to them. She’s more of a guide and teacher.

It’s not enough to merely understand what a dream means, you have to take action on it. It may mean changing a fundamental behavior or habit. That’s where dream life coaching comes in.

Dream Symbolism

One person’s dream may mean something completely different than another person. For instance dreaming about a chicken often relates to a fear a person has. However, Debbie had a client who dreamed about a chicken and it turns out she raises chickens and they were her pets, so the symbolism wasn’t about a fear.

Tips on How to Remember Your Dreams

* Practice it. It’s like going to a gym.

* Make your bedroom a sacred space. Make it as peaceful and relaxing as possible. Declutter. Spray with lavender.

* Get rid of electronics in the bedroom.

* If you have mirrors in your bedroom make sure they’re not right next to your bed.

* Don’t drink alcohol right before you go to bed or caffeinated beverages.

* Do a “dream declaration” right before you go to sleep out loud, “Tonight, I’m going to remember my dreams.” Later, you can get more specific like, “Tonight, I’m going to dream about X.”

* When you first wake up, do not move a muscle for a few minutes. Repeat the dream to yourself over and over as much as you can while in the Twilight state.

* Have a pad and pen near your bed. Immediately get up and write down your dream. There are some apps available on your phone to press and record.

* Go back to what you wrote during the day. Chances are you may remember more.

If you have trouble remembering your dreams, write down the first thing you think of in the morning. It may be related to the dream but may also be what your mind should be focusing on.

Your subconscious is completely unfiltered.  If you can tap into that, you can grow yourself.
