We can take hundreds of hours of lessons on how to improve our games, perfect our strokes and learn tennis strategy. But you can't take lessons for something that's infinitely harder...being a tennis parent! In today's episode we tackle that topic and more with a good friend Wade Murphy as he shares his personal story and the lessons he learned raising his son Sean, taking him through the obstacle course and arduous journey (for both child and parent) that is junior tennis.

There's tons of great insight in this episode not only for parents but for players and coaches too. We talk about how Wade re-committed himself to the game and became an excellent club player in his adult life, his observations on how judgmental the tennis world is and what the role should be for the support team of a player. Lastly, we discuss college tennis and how to find the perfect fit for an aspiring high school player.

Lessons Learned As A Tennis Parent With Wade Murphy And A Big Announcement! (Ep. 39)

Sam Querrey grew up in the Thousand Oaks area outside of Los Angeles, CA where he was one of the best junior players in the nation. At 18 years old he decided to turn pro and quickly vaulted inside the top 150 ATP in just a few months. For the better part of a decade Sam has been one of the best American male players of this generation and has been a mainstay inside the top 100 in the world. He's been a Wimbledon semi-finalist, multiple ATP title winner and US Davis Cup team member.

Sam Querrey On ATP Life, Competing Against The Best and Handling Wins and Losses (Ep. 38)

After scaling an 18,000 foot peak in a remote part of Mexico and biking down the Mississippi River from Minnesota to Louisiana, coach Nate Feldman has a lot of experience and wisdom to draw on when he guides tennis players at the highest level of the game. How do we overcome adversity, learn how to suffer gracefully, win long matches and became more well-rounded people in the process? All that and more is tackled in this week's episode of the Everything About Tennis podcast!

Nate Feldman has made a name for himself as a tennis coach at the top of the game, working with ATP and WTA players along with some the best NCAA Division I men's and women's programs in the country. After playing college tennis at the University of Minnesota, Nate helped coach the University of North Carolina women's tennis team, was the head men's and women's coach at Norfolk State University and served as the assistant men's coach at both Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma. In addition, he's worked as a traveling coach for players on the ATP, WTA and ITF circuits.

Nate's extensive coaching experience along with his passion for travel and the outdoors gives him a unique perspective on the game of tennis and coaching players. Climbing Mountains, Biking Across America and Tennis Tips with Nate Feldman (Ep. 37)

Legendary coach and motivator Greg Patton joins the pod this week for an incredible conversation about his coaching principles, love for the game of tennis, passion, success and more. "The General" Greg Patton is a 2-time NCAA National Coach of the Year and is fourth all-time in NCAA Division I career wins. Just last month he was selected to be inducted into the ITA Collegiate Hall of Fame. He's led his teams at Boise State, UC Irvine, UCSB and CSU Bakersfield to 24 conference championships and has been selected the Conference Coach of the Year an astounding 15 times! In addition, he's had two stints as a US Junior National Team coach where he's worked with the likes of Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Michael Chang, Andy Roddick and more!
