The arrest of the man who killed homeless Michael Jackson performer, Jordan Neely, on a New York City subway train, Daniel Penny, has been met with an overwhelming reaction from conservative Republicans and organizations. Joy Reid and her panel discuss how leading Republicans and conservatives apparently believe that every election cycle requires a new boogeyman. Plus, Democratic North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed legislation that would have banned nearly all abortions in his state after 12 weeks of pregnancy over the weekend. Yet, the state legislature has the power to override his veto and still enact the ban. Gov. Roy Cooper of North Carolina joins Joy to discuss the battle to preserve access to abortion in his region. Finally, athletes posing with guns apparently being held to a higher standard than politicians who do the same thing is called out by Joy Reid. “The perverse worship of guns, from politicians or anyone, would be condemned in a normal, healthy society,” Joy says.
