"Doak South": First Look at FSU v Miami Hurricanes with Tyler Van Dyke & Jake Garcia Helming a Struggling Offense

Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast! Drake and Dave continue Miami hate week and dig deeper into Florida State’s matchup against the hapless Hurricanes, offering reasons why FSU should win resoundingly in this matchup and the implications of doing so, and bringing back a special guest (yup, it’s Max!) to join in the fun!

First, the guys discuss big picture issues with Mario Cristobal’s Canes this season which are particularly exploitable in this matchup, including a putrid offense, first half scoring woes, and key defensive deficiencies, among many other things which revolved around the question: is there a massive regression around Tyler Van Dyke or is is the coaching and scheming of Josh Gattis and Mario Cristobal. 

Next, they bring in a special guest that you know and love to discuss key statistical areas that Florida State should particularly look to exploit, including and especially explosiveness defense, which suits well an FSU offense that’s thrived on chunk plays. If Middle Tennessee State could do it, Jordan Travis then should just have an absolute field day against the Canes right? 

Finally, they weigh the implications of a Florida State win against the Hurricanes, especially on the recruiting trail, and discuss why this is a virtually must-win (and perhaps must-big-win) matchup. Implications around recruiting, perception and optics among her fanbase, Norvell and company have a chance to step up to the plate and go yard against the University of Coral Gables.
