Jim and went to see Dr. Sleep tonight, and left the theater wide awake. It's not The Shining, but it doesn't try to be. Instead, it does it's own thing, which in retrospect is appropriate for a movie about an adult Danny Torrance, who battles his father's demons with addiction to emerge a better man. The cast is amazing, led by the ever engaging Ewan McGreggor and relative newcomer Kyliegh Curran as the brightest Shine of a generation. Director Mike Flanagan (Gerald's Game) once again proves a deft hand adapting Stephen King. Don't go in expecting Kubrick, and we think you'll be pleased. See you next week for Ford v. Ferrari!

It’s a slick episode of Shogun. Mariko, played by Anna Sawai, has been a stand out character since the pilot. In this episode she unleashes her full power and charges full steam ahead into battle. Yabushige is just as psychotic and humorous as before. Would he make a last minute “conversion” to save his own skin? It might be the laugh Jim and A.Ron need after this episode.

Dev Patel stars and makes his directorial debut this year with Monkey Man. This is a stylish movie from the costume design, to the music, to the fights. Jim and A.Ron were fully engrossed in the desperate violence and action that is woven through the story. If you’re a fan of slick action, this is the next movie for you to check out.
