Dr. Douglas Mungin is a Communication Studies Professor at Solano College in Northen Califronia. Dr. Douglas’ research explores issues of homeless, specifically the area of downtown Los Angeles, called Skid Row. His work covers the history of social policies, everyday lives of the unhoused community, policing, and issues of gentrification. His work has been featured in the top publications in his field and was recently highlighted in the Netflix four-part documentary, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel.
