Drowning is a huge worldwide problem, and here in the UK there are around 350 accidental deaths from drowning each year. From the patient who is potentially well enough for discharge on scene, all the way through to the resuscitation and prognostication of a cardiac arrest due to drowning, the topic carries a number of unique questions and challenges.
