In this episode, Jason interviews Dallas "GAR" Bozeman.

Gar was born in Northwest Alabama, but in 2002 his family moved to Katy, TX where he graduated from James E. Taylor High School. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. In 2004, he graduated from the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal School. His military career has taken him all over world, serving in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Over all, he served four combat tours, one to Iraq, and three to Afghanistan. His military career also allowed him the privilege of working with the 1st Royal Canadian Regiment, Afghan Commandos, and the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force in Afghanistan.

Unknown to even those closest to him, Gar’s journey wasn’t as it appeared. His years in combat had left him riddled with Post Traumatic Stress and physical injuries. More significant than any of those wounds, Gar was deeply wounded spiritually. The suffering and death that he constantly saw, left him doubting God’s sovereignty and confused him as to where it all fit into God’s bigger picture. He began turning to alcohol and also abusing the pain medication that was prescribed to him for his injuries. He soon found himself hopelessly lost and barely holding on to what remained of his young family.

That’s all I’m going to tell you … you’ve gotta listen to hear the rest of GAR’S incredible story.

I will tell you that he’s been married to his wife Kimberly for over 10 years, and they have three children: Brooks, Isabella, and Brody. His notable recognitions include: The Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.

My brothers, what you’re about to hear is one of the greatest stories of God’s sovereign protection, mercy, grace, forgiveness, reconciliation, and transformation that I’ve ever heard in my entire life. The first time I heard it, I was in tears (good tears). If you’re needing some hope and encouragement in your faith-journey … hear ya go!
