electioneering /ɪˌlekʃəˈnɪərɪŋ $ -ˈnɪr-/ noun [uncountable] mainly disapproving

the activity of trying to persuade people to vote for a particular political party

Critics have dismissed his visit to a shelter for the homeless as an obvious piece of electioneering.

Modern electioneering is sophisticated and highly organised.

The second example of electioneering is similarly aimed at youthful voters.

But the burgeoning Progressive movement sought to make casting ballots a peaceful and orderly experience unfettered by electioneering.
