Hope is a powerful thing. In this episode we shift our perspective a little beyond what we can see. We discuss how the Lord will test us and the importance of perseverance.

The Scriptures we focused on were Exodus 15:22-27; Deuteronomy 8:1-20; 1 Samuel 10:8; 13:1-15; and John 6:5-7.

**CORRECTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS** I quote Romans 15:13 a few times in this episode. The primary application of what that verse means by “hope” is the hope that we have in Christ, namely, that our souls are secure in Him. It’s about the reality of the fact that we have been redeemed by Him and we look forward in anticipation to His coming and His kingdom. Nevertheless, the verse is still relevant because hope has to do with having the correct biblical perspective and drawing strength from a future reality. In passing I slightly misquoted James 1:17. Here is the verse: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
