Throughout the Advent season, we celebrate the astounding truth that God didn’t stay distant, He came near. In Jesus, God took on flesh and entered our world to be with us, in our waiting, in our chaos, in our celebration and in our world. Each week of the Advent season invites us to rediscover what that means: that hope is possible because He is with us in our waiting; that peace can reign even when life feels out of control; that joy fills our hearts as we celebrate His presence; and that love came down to shine light into the darkness. Through the birth of Jesus, we see that Emmanuel, God with us, is still with us today.
