Barbie is the Founder of Cinderella Bridez, which has been on Wedding Wire’s Brides Choice awards for the past 5 years. She is a celebrity makeup artist, and has worked in several prestigious fashion shows, editorial makeup, and bridal portrait photography. She has a large client base consisting of South Asian brides, and is responsible for catering to the top 3% wedding market share.  We're so excited to have her on the show today!

This week on the podcast we’re talking all about endometriosis - what it is, how to go about finding out if you have endo, and we’re talking to Larissa Kutny, an osteopath who has endometriosis herself.

Endometriosis is a painful disorder where tissue similar to the tissue that is normally found in your uterus grows on the outside of your uterus. 

In the same way that the tissue in your uterus will thicken, break down, and bleed during each period, the tissue will do the same on the outside of your fallopian tubes or ovaries (wherever this tissue is growing), but since there’s no way for the broke down tissue to exit your body- the blood becomes trapped and thus results in sever pelvic pain during menstruation.

Researchers believe that endo affects about 11% of women and menstruators - it’s characterized by painful periods that extends before and after your period, there’s more bleeding than usual with heavy periods or even bleeding between periods, pain during sex, and pain when you go to the bathroom.

Angharad Davies is a Nutritionist who started Bloom Nutritional Therapy to look at each individual and see how they can feel their best with the foods they eat. Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance, and individual care, something Angharad is familiar with.

Angharad comes from Wales, growing up on a farm she learned about how food was sourced and became interested in how nutrients come to our body. She focuses on helping women and menstruators so they can feel great during the four phases of the menstrual cycle, but also during peri menopause and menopause.
