Women are encouraged to be tough in the workplace. However, traits that are considered to be feminine have great potential to create a more inclusive type of leadership, which is especially necessary in the world of business.
In this episode, I'm joined by Linda Grueb and Corinne Nevinny. Linda has over 20 years of investment experience and has worked for global companies like VitaPath Genetics, Linkage Biosciences, etc. Corinne, on the other hand, started her career as an investment banker specializing in healthcare for firms like Kidder, Peabody & Co. and UBS. She also served as chief financial officer for BioTech company Tularik and Edwards Life sciences.
The two founded the company Avestria Ventures in 2019, with the goal of supporting early-stage businesses in the healthcare industry that provide products and services for women.
Linda, Corinne, and I talk about how female leaders have naturally high standards and how this constantly disappoints them, insightful advice for women seeking a career in the venture community. and how to be yourself, surpass gender biases, and make it to the top.
We've also discussed the struggles of women in the workplace, why being part of a small portion of the workforce sometimes results in being unheard, and how the next generation brings hope for fewer gender stereotypes.
