Queue up your: “We’ve got to take all of these games serious” or “We’ve got to come out with more energy” quotes from the Wizards.
The Knicks take down the Wizards 101-97 behind a game-high 19 points from who else, Trey Burke.
Don’t let the box score fool you, outside of Otto Porter, the rest of the starters were non-factors tonight. Yes, Beal scored 14 points. Yes, Morris scored 13 points. Yes, Satoransky had 10 assists. But, they were a big part of the reason Washington found themselves in a 12-point hole one in this game. Poor defense, no energy on either side of the floor, getting outworked by former G-League players; you name it.
The loss means the Wizards will likely be on the road in the first round of the playoffs.
Washington really, really, really, misses John Wall.
