Mindfulness during the winter season is no different from mindfulness during any other season.
Let’s just bear in mind that each season brings different energies, and we must put in the adequate energy that each season requires.
How do we do that?
Let’s use this quote to help us
"Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is time for home." - Edith Sitwell
Weather we like winter or not, our wellbeing during winter is important.
Our mindfulness practice will really help us cope better with the shorter days.
So here are my 3 tips mindfulness exercises for youths wellbeing during winter.
Mindfulness Exercise #1 – Welcome darkness and light.
In this season we are invited by nature to appreciate the contradictions of life. We experience shorter days. Winter is here to remind us of joy and sorrow.
Exercise #2 – Gratitude and Mindful Eating
Guys, zillions of people are without food and drinking water. Lets use this winter season to carefully prepare our warm meal, seat down quietly, acknowledge how fortunate we are to have warm food and feel the pleasure while we slowly take the time to eat our food.
Exercise #3 - Slow Mindful Movement Practices
Things feel slow during the winter season, but we eat more, and we move less.
I therefore invite you to explore slow movements like yoga or stretching daily
That’s it my friends. I hope you enjoyed this livestream. You can also watch the video on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhzheAvoTtk
