Recovery is based so much on intentionally doing things that are scary and difficult.  This concept is often interpreted as being a “mind over matter” thing.  While I understand the spirit and intention of this interpretation, is it quite incorrect and can actually be counterproductive. In reality, recovery is the exact opposite.
